CREU Weekly Report #7: Task Review & Celebrating WSSU
Test 2 has been administered to the Programming I class, but due to some of students having not taken the test, data entry for test #2 is pending. With the university (WSSU) celebrating its 125th birthday, homecoming, and Founders Day , students will not have class on Friday, October 27, 2017. Therefore students will start their programming competition at the beginning of next week. It has been decided that the competition challenge that will be used is the Hotel Reservation challenge. The other challenge that was created will either be used for a second programming contest or as the students final project. Additionally, more literature has been compiled for the team to review and integrate into our research. We are also currently working on creating a poster that discusses our research as an ongoing project.
It is important to note this week's celebration of Winston-Salem State University, an illustrious institution that holds firmly to the belief that students should "Enter to learn. Depart to serve." By celebrating we are expressing our gratitude for everything it has offered us (such as the opportunity to participate in this very research study). But we also are expressing our commitment to continue the legacy high achievement. To continue the legacy of knowing better, and therefore doing better in order to ensure that our future is better. This ties deeply into our research and what we hope to accomplish. We hope to gather as much knowledge as we can to learn of a better way to help programming students stay motivated. Once we learn, and in turn know better, we can begin to implement our findings on a larger scale. This means doing better for our students so that they can achieve their highest potential. By participating in this research we are demonstrating our commitment to continue our institutions legacy.
