With the statistical software SPSS finally downloaded, we started the process of fully analyzing the data. To do this we first took the data from the excel spreadsheet and imported it into SPSS. Initially when we did this, we had problems with the data displaying correctly. Turns out we had to combine the data into one spreadsheet. From there we relabeled the columns and adjusted the data type for the information (primarily just changing the scores to numeric). For the test and quiz scores we ran a descriptive analysis test to determine the mean average score and the standard deviations. We also ran an ANOVA (analysis of variance test ) to determine any significant differences between the scores from the beginning of the semester to those at the end of the semester. While attempting to run the tests, we had to make sure to put the correct data in the independent and dependent categories. Since the software is located on a public computer, we would save our results in order to view them later.
